330 days, 19 hours, 31 minutes and 36 seconds to go until Ironman NZ

So after much deliberation I have decided to start my Ironman blog.

My primary concern was a serious case of ‘who cares?’.  I didn’t want to become the equivalent of the guy who posts pictures of their food on facebook, or their baby, or their latest run stats (ok I might have been guilty of that in the past).

I have also seen the glazed look I get from my ‘normal’ friends when I start talking about T1, negative splits and cadence.

BUT I also know that when I was training for the Canberra Half Ironman that I saw things I wouldn’t have seen, met people outside of the 18-30 eastern suburbs bubble I usually exist in and picked up a few good life habits along the way.

So the aim of this blog is to give friends and family a snapshot of what it is like preparing for an Ironman.  I will save the ‘tri-geek’ chat for coffee with my tri friends, and deliver a ‘normal’ person friendly version for the rest of you.

I will look at least 9 times this nervous on the 1st of March 2014
